I know it is the beginning of June and fall seems a long way off but Lend A Hand needs to start looking ahead. We will be going to a new location the week of Sept. 7-13. The new site, which is listed now by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, is located in Spruce Pine, NC. Spruce Hill is located between Asheville and Boone and was hard hit by Helene. There is plenty of work of all kinds to do in order to get these people back safely into their homes. We have a limit of 20 people for this trip and the cost will probably be $100 for returning volunteers and $50 for any new volunteers. I am hopeful that this trip fills up quickly, so if interested, please let me know.
Our October trip (5-11) will be going to New Bern once again. Hopefully, no damaging weather hits them over the summer months.
Our last fall trip is scheduled for Nov. 9-15. The location is TBA.
